Bangkok, 15 May 2017 – Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited (BA) announces its operating results for the first quarter of 2017 which has achieved total revenue amounting to 7,469 million baht. The net profit was reported at 565 million baht and the average passenger load factor was 71.3 percent in this quarter.
Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, President of Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited commented that, “In the first quarter of 2017, total revenue of the company was 7,469 million baht. The Net profit was reported at the amount of 565 million baht in which the profit attributable to the equity holder of the company was 548.4 million baht, earnings per share equal to 0.26 baht. In this quarter, company’s passenger yield per RPK was 4.91 Baht while the growth in number of passengers rose by 2.7 percent. Furthermore, the airport-related businesses of the company including catering services and ground services, overall performance positively grew from the same period of 2016 by 11.9 percent which was mainly derived from 14.4 growths in revenue of Bangkok Air Catering (BAC) when compared to the first quarter of 2016. The increased revenue was derived from additional airline customers. For ground services, the revenue grew by 10.4 percent while the number of flights grew by 9.7 percent compared to the same period of 2016.”
“Earlier this year, Bangkok Airways launched its non-stop flight service between Samui and Guangzhou (China) with 7 flights per week. In addition to that, in the first quarter, the airline increased its flight frequency on various routes such as Bangkok-Danang (Vietnam) route from 4 flights per week to 7 flights per week, Chiang Mai-Mandalay (Myanmar) from 4 flights per week to 7 flights per week, Chiang Mai-Mae Hong Son from 10 flights per week to 14 flights per week.”
“In February 2017, Bangkok Airways became the first airline in Thailand to receive this new air operation certificate (AOC) in accordance with ICAO standards from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand.
