New Delhi, December 10, 2016 – On December 9, 2016, in New Delhi (India), Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong – Vietjet Vice President and Mr. Pankaj Srivastava – Director – Commercial & Board Member of Air India Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a cooperation on supply of aviation services connecting Vietnam and India under the witnesses of Her Excellency Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan – Chairwoman of Vietnam National Assembly and Indian Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha Smt. Sumitra Mahajan. The signing is on the agenda of the Chairwoman Ngan’s official visit to Republic of India from December 08 to 11, 2016.
Accordingly, Vietjet and Air India will co-commence direct flights connecting Vietnam and India, among those firstly planned is Ho Chi Minh City – New Delhi route. Moreover, both airlines will cooperate on expanding the capability of sales distribution, implementing tourism and trade promotions between Vietnam and India; exchanging experts and aviation experiences; and collaborating on personnel training.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vietjet Vice President Dinh Viet Phuong said: “We are very delighted at today’s agreement with Air India. We hope that Air India’s aviation experience and capabilities will help Vietjet in our better access to India– a potential market with a young and dynamic population of more than 1.2 billion people. The cooperation is also expected to contribute positively to a higher development of partnership in economy, trade and tourism between Vietnam and India.”
